The Trials of Youth

I have some competing demands in my life. I have a full course load at the University of Calgary, I represent 7,200 Arts students with the same university’s Students’ Union, my mother being off in Mexico when an employee walks off the job at the family business forcing me to pull triple shifts in the middle of exams, and, of course, an election. Oh, and I am looking for summer employment.

Oh, and I’m helping Stephen Randall, Liberal candidate in Calgary Centre-North, with his social media campaign. If you didn’t notice, he has been named by Global TV as the fourth most engaging candidate-twitterer this election and has had his social media strategy called the “most well-rounded” by another news site. I’ve also been the head web-IT-tech guy for the campaign, putting together the campaign’s website and fixing the odd thing.

So, when we get right down to it, sitting down for thirty minutes and writing a blog post is well nigh impossible.

So you haven’t had the pleasure of getting one.

Stephen Randall noted by media as most engaged Twitterer in Alberta, fourth nationally

The campaign I’m working on in Calgary Centre-North has had its campaign recognized nationally for being the most engaging on twitter. Global News covers it here. He’s engaging with people and talking to people.

This is in direct comparison to the local Conservative candidate, who doesn’t even bother to show up to forums.
